What is anodized plus?
Anodized Plus® provides a unique protective coating on anodized finishes. Its anodic coating combined with an organic film offers the dual benefits of enhanced durability and resistance to corrosion.
Conventional anodic coatings rely on hot water or steam sealing to close the porous anodic layer however; it is not possible to close every pore using this process. Anodized Plus® replaces the conventional sealing processes which intrinsically create a superior, stable product. The patented method of electrolytic coloring by vertical immersion ensures consistent color quality and complete coverage. The colors available are white, black, clear, champagne, medium and dark bronze. After coloring, the organic coating is applied through an electrode position process which produces a uniform film with a matte finish.
Anodized Plus® satisfies most standards of AAMA 2605. It provides excellent corrosion atmospheres-particularly in highly humid and salty conditions along roads and seashores. And when mortar or alkaline contacts its surface Anodized Plus® does not require a rustproof agent. Anodized Plus® is a definite plus for aluminum glazing systems.
Our “Anodized Plus®” extrusion has a clear coat which 100% seals the pores of the metal against chloride penetration, as apposed to conventional anodizing.
The Anodized Plus® finish is available in five
colors, with no ranges in color.
